From time to time, you’ll see onions start sprouting green shoots, especially if they are stored in a warm place. Under those circumstances, you don’t have to throw it away or compost it. Rather place it in water and watch it grow. In fact, the onion will grow roots pretty fast and then you can plant it in the garden and continue harvesting greens.
