From time to time, an occasional tomato can start going bad when you store them. Don’t put it in the wastebasket! Instead, cut off a slice that is not in perfect shape anymore and put it on top of the soil of your garden bed. Cover it with soil and watch as the little seedlings will appear in a few days. Eventually, you can transplant them in a permanent spot in the garden and support them inside the tomato cages. In a due time, you’ll be able to harvest your own crop of tomatoes. In fact, from just a couple of slices, you can fill up the whole garden bed that is 8′ x 4′. As long as the weather is warm, you’ll be harvesting fresh tomatoes for your kitchen.
